Teacher outfit builder

Tell it your season, grade, dress code and budget. It puts together an outfit from pieces that fit those rules, and you can shuffle until one looks like you.

Fig. 1 The builder mixes a layer, a top, a bottom or dress, shoes and one extra.

Short answer

Choose four things and the builder returns a full outfit: layer, top, bottom (or a dress), shoes and one extra. It only uses pieces that fit your dress code (no jeans or sneakers under a strict code), your grade (washable, floor friendly pieces for preschool, athletic wear for PE) and your season, with colors from a seasonal palette. Each piece links to current listings.

How the builder works

  1. Dress code first. Strict hides jeans, tees and sneakers. Business casual hides jeans. Casual allows all of them. These levels follow the rules in policies such as Durand-Arkansaw School District’s and Mesquite ISD’s.
  2. Grade level next. Preschool gets washable, floor friendly pieces; middle and high school gets more collars and blazers; PE gets athletic pieces whatever the code.
  3. Season sets fabric and color. Boots and sweater dresses in winter, flats and midi skirts in spring and summer, warm colors in fall.
  4. Budget changes the advice, not the pieces. It tells you where to spend and where to thrift.
  5. No dresses or skirts swaps every dress and skirt for pants.

Questions people ask

How does the outfit builder pick pieces?

Every piece in its list is tagged with the seasons, grade levels and dress codes it suits. The builder filters to the pieces that match all four of your choices, then picks one per slot, with top and layer colors from the season and neutral bottoms.

Does the builder know my school’s dress code?

No. It uses three common levels: strict (no jeans, tees or athletic shoes), business casual, and casual with jeans allowed. Read your own policy; the dress code guide shows real examples.

Does it store my choices?

No. It runs entirely in your browser and saves nothing.
