Business casual teacher outfits

Business casual is the most common staff dress code in schools and the vaguest. Here is what it usually allows, and outfits that meet it without office-only fabrics.

Short answer

Business casual for teachers means collared shirts, blouses and knit tops, chinos or dress pants, skirts and dresses to about the knee or longer, cardigans and blazers, and closed, clean shoes. It usually excludes jeans (except on jeans days), T-shirts, athletic wear, shorts and flip-flops. Mesquite ISD, for example, calls business casual style appropriate and saves jeans for Fridays.
